room temperature

Question: does the temperature in the room where I am exercising make a difference in how many calories I burn? Because when I exercise in my apartment where I have no air conditioning I feel like I've worked twice as hard as when I do the same thing in my school's air conditioned gym. I don't have the money for a heart rate monitor, but if feels like my heart is working harder in the heat and I have more trouble breathing.

Maybe? It's possible your body is working twice as hard to keep yourself cool since the room isn't cool enough?

IDK, but I'm interested in any answers I see! :D

I would think so, but not sure. There is a yoga practice (forget the name) where they make the room like 100 degrees or something so there must be some benefit. I guess the sweating maybe is what helps, even if your just sitting there.

YES! Your body is working really hard to stay cool. Drink more water than you think you could ever drink during these workouts!
