vegetable juice?

back in the past when i was thin i used to replace breakfast with a very tall glass of low sodium tomato juice and maybe a piece of fruit
and for lunch i would have a tall glass of carrot juice and celery with nonfat ranch
this seemed to work but i was also quite young (in my early teens)
is this something that could work for me now as an adult? or would i be depriving my body of many essential needs?

I know a V8 is full of sodium but, it is very healthy otherwise. I drink that sometimes as brunch. If you can make a vegetable drink from scratch it would be even better. It's just packed with nutrients and vitamins. I can't say about just plain tomato juice though.0

Could work, but you still need to eat "normal food" meat. What I do is that when I finish my workout I drink one glass of blended fruit juice. I put in 1 banana because it has sugar and in this way I don't need to put extra sugar or honey in my shake0

because i know a glass of vegetable juice fills me up
but im afraid of stripping my body of other nutrients by replacing a meal with a liquid0 -
I don't see why this wouldn't work! You may want to invest in a juicer... then you know what's going into it and you can make sure it isn't high in sodium and can control what nutrients you are getting! Just a thought!0

basically the only guilt free meats i can enjoy are white chicken and any form of fish
so are you saying instead of replacing meals with juice, to drink it post work out instead of a snack?
hmmm this seems like a good idea!0 -
Exactly instead of eating snack you can drink juice. By the way I don't eat red meat neither, if I do it is only happening once in a very long while
So you can find kosher chicken, turkey for sure, but you need protein! If you are not a big meat eater try to get your protein at least from milk, cheese!

i literally think god just hates me and didnt want me to eat anything ever hahahha
i try to get protein from spinach and beans, and of course white meat like chicken and fish
the only red meat ill touch is beef and thats like once in a blue moon0 -
I don't think anyone hates you! Yes beans has the most I think although I am not into these :P Main thing try to keep balance. There are ham made out of turkey and chicken so just make a sandwich at least out of it with veggies and bit of butter

You may want to invest in a juicer for vegetables, that way you can blend your own and use the pulp to add to ommelettes for instance, that way you get some of the fiber too. You can also make little vegetable pancakes with them, with some egg and a little flour to bind them.
A good juicer expresses all nutrients that are in the plant. Drinking fruit juice is a waste of a good fruit in my opinion, better eat them whole.
Spinach doesn't contain protein.0 -

I even juice parsley, and some sauerkraut to add to half a cucumber and a couple of tomatoes
I use this one:

Seems expensive, but it is very well made, so should last you a lifetime and is very, very easy to clean and that, for me, was the most important thing. Plus I wanted to be able to take it with me.
With a slow turning juicer you are sure to get all the nutrients from vegetables. You can juice fruits too (although i wouldn't juice a banana with it)0 -
i dont like fruit so id feel no need to put a banana into my juices
but i really will look into a personal juicer based on this thread!
ty for all the wonderful advice! :}0 -
Do you eat tofu? You could blend some silken tofu in with the juice for protein.0
