Frustrated & Discouraged - not losing weight

Alright. I lost 30 lbs on Weightwatchers (diet only, wasn't really working out) Then I hit a plateau and joined a gym and quit smoking. Gained 5-7lbs during this process.
Thought once my body got used to no more smoking and got used to me working out - I would eventually lose the weight again. Not happening.

So I adjusted my routine. I am working out 3-4 times a week. I am doing different classes like step, and chisel and weight/cardio and walking also and running. I was eating 1400 cals a day (more relaxed on weekends) and that didn't help.

So now I am at 1200-1250 cals (no carbs) and working out 4 times a week. I allowed myself ONE just ONE big breakfast and gained weight.

Some people told me I am not eating enough, so when I upped my cals I started gaining so I stopped.

It was just so much easier it felt like on weight watchers when all I was doing was limiting my caloric intake and not working out at all.

Blahblah People tell me muscle weighs more than fat. I have more muscle for sure in my stomach and legs and my clothes still fit.

What do I need to do to lose the weight. I am working out more, eating less and its just not working.

I am getting really frustrated.

If you are only eating 1200 calories a day and working out 4 times a week. You are not eating enough.

Can you open up your diary so people can offer up some suggestions.
  • Thats what I was told. BUT when I changed to 1400-1500 I was gaining weight or staying stagnate at my current weight.

How long were you at 1500 calories?

Have you calculated your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) to see what your body actually needs to function?

How is your water / sodium intake?

Instinct is to cut calories lower and lower. Exercise more and more. When u feel like u are not losing weight. For most peeps that is the wrong answer! Everyone loses weight at a different pace.

So from someone who is a slow weight loser.... Me. 1 year to lose 24lbs. Change your view: to wanting to be healthy by eating right and a balanced exercise regimen. You will be a lot happier than focusing on the scale going down. You are letting the scale control your outlook on success!
  • I was at 1500 for at least 1-2 months.

I calculated my BMR it says its about 1700. I just don't feel thats right. Even at 1500 I was gaining.

I was just happy to finally be in my 130s and now I can't get back to that no matter what im doing or counting or eating.
I lost 30 lbs in 4 months and I was just so used to that kind of weight loss. But even then I think it was muscle loss since I was losing 2-4 lbs a week on average.

since I been working out so much my muscles are stronger but weight is not budging
