Boo - no weight loss thing week.

I'm SO bummed. I didn't lose any weight this week, and in fact, I think I gained half a pound. I stayed very close to my calorie count all week, though I did veer off on a couple of meals. But I didn't think I ate so much that I would have GAINED a pound.
I know it's super common to not lose anything, or even temporarily gain a little weight, even when you're doing everything right. Just FRUSTRATING. I guess I need to be a little more strict with myself this week.

If you open up your food diary I can take a look and make some recommendations based on your habits.0

I've been fluctuating between 158 and 161 for two weeks. I feel your pain-hang in there!0

I had a few weeks like that. I made some tweaks and then finally broke through. If you open up your diary, we can help more.0

I'm the same, have hit my plateau...i go a pound ro two or or under for a few weeks...so annoying. Many things can make 1lbs difference, water retention, mestural cycle etc Don't get down...keep up your fab efforts.0

Sorry, I thought my diary was open - turns out, that was just my profile! So now you can see what I munch on.
BTW - I don't eat back my calories and I don't intend on doing so unless I have another week or so of no weight loss.

You should start eating your exercise calories, at least as an experiment. 1200 calories a day is the minimum you should eat and if you don't eat your exercise calories your body may not get enough nutrition on which to function properly. You also aren't logging your water, if you're drinking it. You need at least 8 glasses a day, more is better. You also need a lot more fresh vegetables and fruits. I also suggest you cut out refined sugar as it makes your body release insulin which stops the body's fat burning processes.0

^Agreed - try eating more calories and definitely log your exercise. While 1200 is a generic baseline and everyone's calorie needs are different (and fluctuating sometimes) it doesn't hurt to use the 1200 as a benchmark and go from there.
Even if your calorie deficit is smaller you should still see some sort of loss...0 -
I feel you on this! I had a 1/2 pound gain this past week, BUT I'm right on the verge of starting my yucky girltime, so I figure next week I'll weigh in and it'll magically be 5 pounds less!
...hey I can dream!0 -

I'm a type 1 diabetic - I don't have any insulin for my body to release.BTW - insulin is released for ALL food with carbohydrates, so that's not entirely accurate anyway. However refined sugar causes an insulin spike, which isn't good for the body.
Frozen vegetables are just as healthy as fresh fruits and veggies, though I could probably stand to up my quantity of both. I also don't believe in drinking 8 glasses of water a day, but I could probably drink a little bit more.
I only exercised 3 days last week, so I don't think my exercise caused so much of a problem that I would have gone into "starvation mode" a not lost any weight! It might have been a fluke week.0 -
Fellow type 1 here, too. My body loves to hit plateaus and I think it may be related to insulin resistance -- more likely, though, is that my body is just stubborn0

Do you of Ginger Vieira? I've been chatting with her and she told me not to worry about it just yet. She said a lot of things can factor into weight loss, not just body fat. She wrote a book and suggested I take a look at it again (I have a copy). I think I'm going to make sure I'm doing everything optimally before heading back to eating my calories. I do eat about 1350-1400 calories a day, so while my exercise does put me in a "deficit" under 1200, I am definitely getting nutrients. It's not like I'm eating the baseline of 1200 and then exercising strenuously on top of that!0
