I went to my first class last week and will be doing this approxmiately 2-3/week. Is this a good workout? I felt like i wasn't doing much except vamping up my heart rate. I need to tone and have 20lbs to go so is this something I need to stick to for awhile before I will see results or is this a waste of time? Also they will be doing Aqua Zumba next month...Any thoughts on this? I also walk on the treadmill 3/week for about 30-45 min. I start at incline of 5 and finish on 10. Unable to run due to bad knee but I can burn 300-400 calories depending on the minutes. Is this accurate? Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas welcome!!!

Yes it is one of the best exercise anyone can do. NO wear and tear on the body and it works. I was a fitness instructor for the National Water Aerobics and National Arthritis Foundation several years back. Was a wonderful experience and great work out..

I think waterobics is a great form of exercise, specially for people with injuries. The water adds resistance without adding having to add weights or high impact to joints. And the water keeps your body cool so no risk of overheating.

I loved aqua-fit when I was doing it, the water made it awesome on the joints so everything was low impact, and you can amp up your difficulty by being in deeper water, the more water you're covered in the more resistance you're working against for all your moves.
I felt that it was a great workout and since that gym the cardio equipment felt like it was almost always in use and the aquafit had room well that's what I preferred to do.
