I started running with Couch to 5k after New Year when I decided I needed a new way to exercise that got me out of the house but didn't mean I ended up at the gym. I've kept up the running since completing C25K mid-March and have signed up for my first race! Yay! It's a 5k and is on Sunday 11th September this year. I'm raising money for Sense, a charity that supports deafblind people. I already contribute £5 a month to them so I thought any races I sign up to should raise money for them too.

I know it's a while away yet but I was hoping that maybe a couple of my MFP buddies might donate a few pounds (or dollars, if it'll allow) as it's a really good cause.

I'm also in discussion with my brother about running a half marathon together on 23rd October this year. I know it's a big step up but I'm looking to run a marathon (possibly the London Marathon) next April so I need to up my training.

As it's a while away, I don't expect anyone to donate just yet (but it would be nice if you could!) so I'll be badgering for support nearer the time :P

If anyone wants to run the race with me, I'll be posting in the exercise and fitness board.
