So I've managed to lose around 65 lbs. since around May of 2009, and I'm pretty happy with myself. I've been stuck at around 300 lbs. for about a month now.

Can your body get used to certain foods? I eat the same kind of stuff for lunch and breakfast maybe 90% of the time. Can switching to other (still healthy) foods kick start me again?

yeah, i believe it can. switch things up and see if it gets your metabolism going. if you eat a big dinner, then try eating a big breakfast instead and a small dinner. change the order of how your eating your foods. are you working out too? if so, switch up your routine as well. and try upping your water intake. i broke a 12 week long plateau by increasing my water from 8 glasses to 12 glasses per day. best of luck to you and well done on your progress!

Oh heck yeah. I would totally switch things up - give it a week or two and then see the scale move. :flowerforyou:

Add sodium to your diary and see how your intake of sodium is...combined with your water. You may not be losing because your intake of sodium might be over your allotted amount and you might not be drinking enough water to flush it.

I think you're body can get used to certain foods. Sometimes you need to switch it up and add another snack somewhere or something. Good luck!

I would do more research if I were you. I just recent bought the Lean Belly prescription by Dr. Travis Stork. It has a lot of good ideas on how to help slim down without too much effort. Little switches to your regular diet without making your feel like you are depriving yourself of what you like. I hate restricting myself so I read books like that to help get ideas of what good foods to add to my regular diet. As far as the beer goes, my father drinks a lot of it too but he is also a big time water drinker so he was still able to lose 20 pounds just with tweaking his portions and mild excercise. He doesn't look pregnant anymore. LOL....good luck.

I was the same for a while, that 300 number is stubborn.. lol. But I agree with the other gals switching up exercises and food will help. Also, I've been taking cinnamon supplements which is suppose to boost your bodies work, saw it on doctor OZ, lol.. They had lost similar amounts to what I need to lose so I took their advised. I'll send ya the links. :D They all give great tips!

You should log everything everyday. Your diary has lots of days with no entries. Also looks like you're not logging some meals or skipping them entirely.

Log everything that you eat and you'll probably find your answer there.
  • Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to try some of your suggestions.
