Hi, just started experimenting with smoothies...well green ones and was wondering if anyone else out there are making them and using them in your diet. My family has alot of digestion issues and have one kid that is on track to trying them...well she drank about a few sips but thats all today.
Do they help in weight loss?

Im not sure what kind of smoothie you are talking about but sometimes I make protein smoothies with flavored yogurt after a work out... it helps with protein afterwards. Sometimes it even replaces my evening meal!! Maybe someone else can help you out better than I can... Good luck!!0

I just made myself a pineapple ginger smoothie from a a Martha Stewart Everyday FOod magazine (Jan/feb2011) issue. There are several in that issue that are very light. The one I made was 156 cal per serving . Recipe for 2:
1 c pineapple
1/2 c fat free plain yogurt
1 piece fresh ginger peeled 1inch
1/2 t. Cinnamon
8 oz pineapple juice
1 c ice if using fresh pineapple
I added a packet of stevia for extra sweetness. I'm pretty sure ginger has good digestive properties.
Als, if you have a vitamix blender, you should consider investing in one. It really makes a difference in the finished product! Not to mention the man other things it can do.0
