As you can tell by my subject, I need help with the black bean brownies that everyone has been raving about. My brother is going to be home in a few hours from a track meet, and I (the guilty sister who stayed home) want to make him some black bean brownies. The problem is, there are SO MANY out there with thousands of different ingredients, and I don't even know if they taste good. My brother hates all things healthy, so I don't want a so-so black bean brownie. What is the best tasting recipe that you have found?

It can contain sugar, butter, flour. It doesn't matter (but if you do have sugar free ones that don't include sweeteners, I would appreciate them as well so I can try them). Please and thank you!

    Black Bean Brownies

    Ingredients:

1 box any commercial prepared brownie mix
    1 15.5-ounce can black beans

    Directions:

    1. Open can of beans

    2. Drain the black beans using the lid while keeping them inside the can. Then fill the can (with drained beans inside it) back up with water. Then put the beans and water into the blender and blend to smooth out the beans.

    3. Mix thoroughly with brownie mix. (No eggs, oil or other ingredients needed.)

    4. Place in greased baking pan.

    5. Bake according to package directions. Cool and serve.

Approximately 100 calories per brownie, which are also low-fat and high fiber.

No way! Are these really good? I am not a big chocolate person, but my fiance would love these! He is on MFP also and loves it.

I've had them made by two different people. They are fudgey, which is good, but they taste like beans. make sure to mash the beans thoroughly.

I don' think they are very good. I'd rather just skip these bean brownies all together, or make them with yogurt or applesauce in place of the oil.

Unfortunately I found out that it is NOT really ANY COMMERCIAL brownie mix. I had Hershey's Ultimate Brownie Mix at home... turns out that the dry mix for 20 brownies is 2400 calories alone... add 385 calories for the beans and you're at 2785 for 20 brownies ... (if it actually makes 20 brownies)... more likely 16... that is 174 calories per brownie. Still excellent taste. Still basically a good snack... but watch which brownie mix you use!
