oatmeal is really good for you. You can make the instant ones if you dont have time to cook the other. Also, egg whites are great too. Make an egg white omlet and put some peppers, onions, spinach, or any other veggie you like.0

During the week I'll usually do greek yogurt and fruit and/or granola or low sugar instant oatmeal. On the weekends, a high fiber waffle with a smear of natural PB or spinach omelette with toast.0

Oatmeal is a really good option, but I can't handle the texture a lot of times. If I can't stomach it that day, I often will take a serving of dry honey nut cheerios with me along with some skim chocolate milk or a protein shake.
Another one of my favorite is to nuke an egg for 2 minutes, toast an english muffin, then put the egg on the muffin with a slice of cheese and a piece of ham (optional)...a ham, egg, and cheese muffin is only 295 calories and if you use a whole wheat muffin you have a serving of fiber, plus it has some protein to get you going, tastes super yummy, and saves you a dollar or so from running through McD's!0 -
I measure everything with a measuring cup to be exact.
I have about 15 minutes to eat aswell so I prefer:
1 cup of rice crispies cereal
1 cup of skim milk
1 fat free yogurt
and a fruit such as a banana.0 -

And if you do eat oatmeal...I wouldn't suggest the instant, super sweetened flavored stuff...I'd go with old fashioned oats and some splenda or honey to sweeten it up. If you don't have time to actually cook it, you can take it to work and microwave the water then pour in the oats.0 -
Here's our staple oatmeal recipe! Super easy and faster than going through the drive-thru.

Most days i have 2 eggs with 2 whites and 1/3 of a cup of oatmeal with a bit of skim milk and a sprinkle of sugar (working on lowering this to nothing). I use the 3-5 min oats from the bag, not instant, and microwave it.0

My favorite breakfast include:
-toast with sunflower (or almond/peanut butter) and cinnamon sprinkled on top
-half or a whole grapefruit with 1 splenda
-coffee with almond milk
I also love cereal parfaits:
-1/2 cup kashi (i usually like heart to heart)
- 1/2 container chobani plain nonfat yogurt
-1/2 cup frozen mixed fruit (pineapples, strawberries, melons, and/or grapes)
-some honey or splenda
Mix everything together...sooo good!0 -
Porridge and any fruit of your choice0

M-F: Whole grain cereal (usually Cheerios or Total) with yogurt and berries, toasted English muffin with butter
Sat: Oatmeal/Cream of Wheat with berries and a tbsp. of maple syrup
Sun: I'll splurge and have 2 slices bacon, 3-egg omelet with grape tomatoes or avocado on the side, whole grain toast with butter0 -
An easy way to sweeten oatmeal without adding any additional sugar is to mash a banana, and use old fashioned rolled oats... add the banana when you add the milk, water, and oats to the pan (I use 1/3 cup rolled oats, 1/3 cup 1% milk, and 1/3 cup water and 1 medium banana). At the end of cooking time, just add a tiny splash of vanilla extract and mix in some fresh berries (or anything else you want to mix in... the choices are endless). Top with a bit of peanut butter, almond butter, or a few dark chocolate chips. It's AMAZING. Tomorrow I'm planning to make a cinnamon apple oatmeal with dried apples, the banana sweetened oatmeal, and cinnamon. Super excited! It's important to have a breakfast that will keep you full for a while without adding unnecessary calories.0

in the morning its best to have something that has a higher fiber content as to fill you up for the rest of the day or at least some fat in it. The fat will make it so you will have more energy and actually helps with mood. Try to avoid sugar as much as possible as i have fallen victim to black hole that is sugary ceral and jam. Beware of bars that claim to be healthy and provide with a low calorie intake because they too are also loaded with sugar. But some sugar is not bad, as long as you use that or turn it in to energy.
Good foods:
- Banana
- Low sugar Cereal
- Eggs
- Oatmeal
and suprisingly even bacon can be used in a healthy diet because it helps with fat intake and just needs to be eaten in smaller portions. Too much of anything is a bad thing. Star figuring out what you like in the morning and dont go over board and you will do just fine.
Best of luck!0 -
I get bored very easily so try to shake up my breakfast routine regularly. I am also a fan of porridge during winter months and second adding some cranberries or other dried fruit mmmmmm I like to do some scrambled eggs with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, somedays I'll cook up some Quorn Veggie sausages too (that may be a UK thing). Recently I've been having a slice of whole toast with a spoon of peanut butter then a thinly sliced up banana on top starts my day off with a smile :happy:0
