Hi All,

I am new, I started officially on friday. I have tried every fad diet, now I am just going to focus on calories in and calories out. I am beginning to see the value of eliminating processed foods and I am curious as to what people who are having success are doing. If you have lost more than 50 pounds please feel free to tell me how you did and how long it took. I welcome any friends for motivation and encouragement! Also recipes, I have am quickly finding out so many things are just not worth eating any more.

  • My best advice:
    1. Eat lots of vegetables, lean protein, fruit, and whole grains - in that order.
    2. Listen to your body...it will let you know what it needs.
    3. You can't live not eating your favorite foods - do so in moderation.
    4. Don't compare yourself to others. You'll lose weight at the speed right for you.
    5. Enjoy your new healthy lifestyle - mindset is everything!

These are my top five...79 lbs down to date. (14 on MFP in the past 3 weeks)

Hi I am also from Ohio Good luck on your journey on losing weight. Hope you love this site it is very encouraging and helpful. I have recently cut out alot of processed foods too when I first started I was eating lean cuisines and healthy choice meals and those 100 cal. snack packs and while those are all right once in awhile since I have cut them out majority of the time I have steadily lost every week at least one pound usually closer to two or more rather plateauing so much. I will be sending you a friend request also:flowerforyou:
