OK...so after losing 90lbs total so far....my skin is not pretty to say the least!! I still have 24lbs to go, but I need some ideas that may help tighten up the skin under my arms, and on my stomach!!!

As far as exercise that I do right now...I usually get in 3-4 days of cardio/week (elliptical, turbo jam, taebo, hiking), 3 days/week of abs exercise 10-20 min/day (ab jam, crunches, 6 second ab cruncher, 10 minutes solutions-flat abs fast), and 3 days/week of arm exercise 10-20min/day (arm weights, resistance bands, and yes...even the damn shake weight!) LOL

So question is...what can I add, what has worked for you, what should I change, what weight should I try using....just any advice for abs and arms that you can think of would be awesome!!

Thanks!

I believe first biggest change drink a lot of water so your skin get more fresh and slowly gets back it flexibility also put a lot of lotion on it 2-3 times a day and sometimes even tho it is an old trick , but you can use clear wrap around while exercise this will dehydrate your skin and will make you sweat still .Another thing you might want to try that you change the weights while weight lifting. I do 10 min with 3lbs and than change to 5lbs after change it back. Your skin won't get back to original shape fast, but don't give up it just takes time.

First of all, congrats on your weight loss! Second, sorry to say it but you cannot tighten your skin with exercise:-( The elasticity of your skin is determined by your genetics and probably age and the rate in which you've lost the weight. But, if you think that your arms are "flabby" it may not be due to your skin. Maybe you just need to lose some more fat over the muscle, or "tone up". Good old fashioned strength training, cardio and proper nutrition should do it.

I would cut back on the abs (maybe only 2x a week). It's a huge muscle and takes longer to heal than smaller muscles.

As for triceps, tricep dips are great (you can do them on a chair at home), and overhead tricep curls. And, of course, there are push ups which work all areas of your upper body, and the (dreaded) plank.

And sell the shake weight. My final paper before getting certified dealt with why the shake weight doesn't work. Booo!

    Hope this helps!

I hate the plank!! LOL will definately consider cutting down on abs and upping arms for next month....I think weights and resistance bands are gonna be it for me...and just focusing on the triceps and delts, hopefully the skin will start going back the way it was many, many years ago!

I guess I should clarify...I do know that my skin won't go away with exercise...I just wanted to know if there was any tricep/ab targeted workouts to focus on to help tone the muscle that is already there and chip away at the fat that is left...the skin will fix itself as much as possible along the way :)

thanks for everyone's input so far though :)

You should have just asked about toning instead of skin.....totally two different answers lol

Me, too! Well, I don't have a shake weight, but I'm focusing on toning since I'm so close to my goal. I started working out with the boxing trainer, and I'm doing strength training (arms & abs) three times a week. We are going to look bangin' this summer!
