Do any of you struggle with hormonal blocks?

I just started to look into all the different hormones that can make weight loss harder and easier for different people. I have no idea if i truly even fall into this category, but wondered if anyone out there struggles with the "Cortisol" issue, and if so, what do you do about it? How have you altered what you eat? Supplements? Any insight?

I have elevated cortisol levels and saw a specialist last year and I was only elevated in the afternoon?! The specialist could'nt explain why and basically said I could'nt get pregnant and don't even TRY to lose weight cuz' it would'nt work. She would see me in 6months......I was pissed so I went to the natural food store. I got these pills called "Cortisol Lowering Supplements"...yea, pretty generic name and starting taking them. Lo and behold I lost 25lbs and got pregnant! I had my baby in december....waiting for store to get shipment in as apparently they don't always carry the same things from time to time! If this is what works then I am going to keep taking them...I don't have any more stress than the normal...stay at home mom of 2 kids....I hear coffee can mess with your levels but I can't give up my one vice...I don't drink soda...I need my am coffee!! I must be a naturally stressed person!!

Have you tried finding an online supplier or going to the Vitamin Shoppe?

Interesting- thank you- I am not a person who likes taking any pills- even aspirin unless I have to- but was wondering about the Cortisol pills... any bad side affects that you know of?

No...in fact....I had a lot of energy and was able to exercise everyday and not feel exhausted! I can muster 3 days per week now without pills but have to take breaks in between cuz my body is tired!! I need to call and see if the pills are in too.....about $26 for a 60 day supply....I think I only took 2 per day.....I figured they were worth a shot since the Natural Foods Store is pretty reliable for "safe" alternatives.....I don't usually took anything either like tylenol or ibrup. unless I am in serious pain....just the multivit, vitd3, and vit c. Good luck!!
