Correct places to measure??

I am having such a hard time measuring consistantly!! I take my own measurements, but they are all over the map! I have lost 20-22 lbs and I have been trying to keep up with measurements, but some times they are bigger, sometimes they are smaller and sometimes they show no change!
When I started I had a friend take measurements and pictures, but then I decided to measure myself and ARG! If anyone has any advice on the best way to measure and to ensure that its consistant, please please share!!! I want accurate measurements and I don't feel like I am getting them!
Thanks so much!!!

I've tried to measure myself as well, but I'm guessing in fewer places. I bought a body fat caliper a month ago with the intention of keeping track of that, but it's (nearly) impossible to use on yourself and be accurate. :sad:0

Find a mole, scar, freckle, birth mark, etc on your body that you can reference in your measurements.0

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right either. But I measure
arms- middle of biscep relaxed (not enough muscle there to start flexing LOL)
bust- largest point
underbust- where my bra strap sits
bellybutton- self explained
hips- where my butt is the largest
thighs- largest point
I have watched my numbers come down, but being a girl...never measure within days of TOM that will throw numbers up.
Please correct me if I'm doing this wrong...I was just winging it.0 -
•Bust: Don't squish yourself -- measure all the way around your bust and back right at your nipple line, and make sure the tape measure is not lower.
•Chest: Measure under your breasts but as high up as you can go, keeping the tape measure parallel to this line when you reach it around your back.
•Waist: Measure wherever it is the smallest (if you have "no waist" go around yourself right at the navel line).
•Hips: Measure at the very biggest part -- even if that is so low that you are almost on the top of your thighs.
•Midway: Measure midway between the very biggest part of your hips and your waist.
•Thighs: Measure wherever they are the biggest.
•Knees: Measure right above the knee.
•Calves: Measure wherever they are the biggest.
•Upper arm: Measure wherever they are biggest above your elbows.
•Forearms: Measure wherever they are biggest below your elbows.0 -
