Hi there.
I'm a 43 year old full-time carer for my disabled wife. Although I'm not hugely overweight (my BMI is only just in the overweight range) I have put on excess pounds around my gut since having to give up work to care for my wife 3 years ago. Going to a gym or going out walking/running is impossible as my wife needs monitoring 24/7 so if anyone can give me a *virtual* kick up the a**e to get me exercising at home I'd really appreciate it. I started on MFP on Saturday and have been very good at cutting out all the junk food/snacks but am finding that I'm not eating enough calories. Any ideas/tips/hints gratefully received. Anyway, it's been great to have discovered this site and I'm determined to stick to it.

    Hello and welcome.
I am really glad to hear that your wife has you to take care of her, I will be happy to kick you once in a while LOL.

My wife and I have been doing this for about 2 months and we both enjoy all the support that members provide, as well as reading about others' success stories.

Feel free to add me if you'd like

  • Hello and welcome

I have been on this site since March and I have had nothing but support from everyone here. The best thing you can do is log on. I'm so addicted that I have this on my IPOD so I can log on anywhere. You are already starting off on the right foot by posting.

Good Luck on your wonderful weight loss journey!!!
