My name is Kat and I'm 21 and new to this site. I am on the WW site right now and finding that it isn't doing much for me, so I am trying a different approach and going to start counting my calories. I've already seen a difference between the two sites (WW already saying I'm over my limit, this site saying I'm not). I just want to see if counting calories is better for me.
Any tips or tricks of the trades, low cal recipes, friend requests, motivational people, etc. would be wonderful!

welcome to the site. I have been on for about a month and have lost 15 pounds. I have found that being able to see the hidden calories in common foods has been a huge help, and I am using that information to change how I think about food (and how I order at restaurants)
best of luck to you
