food tracking

i find that im most successful in staying within my calories if i track EVERYTHING im going to eat before I eat it.
for example, when im logging my breakfast... i also log what i've packed for lunch, my snack, and anything else i foresee for the day.
that seems to help me ONLY eat those 12 almonds - instead of 20 and having to really limit myself later. i also try to always allot myself additional breathing room for any of those sneaky desserts that i can't say no to and know i'll eat regardless of what ive racked up during the day- like the mini hershey almond bar or the couple scoops of cool whip with my berries.
anyone else experience this? tracking EVERYTHING you plan to eat for the day to allow yourself to better stay on track?

I often do this with my workouts. If I have already logged them I'll push myself harder to not only go to the gym but also work harder in my workout.0

I'm the same way! When I log my breakfast in the AM, I also log my lunch that I packed along with my snacks for the work day. Then I can work within my remaining calories for dinner and a possible after-dinner snack.
It helps keep me accountable. Not that I don't go over. I'm struggling lately with going over on sugar and always WAY under on carbs.0 -
I do this too. Because I do meal planning at the beginning of the week I pretty much know what I will eat that day. It's good because I don't really think about food as much anymore, I just eat what I said I was going to eat. It's also helpful to make sure I'm eating some / all of my exercise calories back throughout the day.0

Hmmmm.. This is interesting. I will try this. I try to plan bit if I commit by entering it, it would keep me on track I think. Thanks.0

i plan every day the night before, that way i know i am within my calorie allotment (base calories), am not tempted to just grab something 'fast' when hungry.. and can easily add in extra items if i get in some exercise calories that day *S*
really makes it so easy *S*0 -
I do this too. I plan ahead and log it all either the night before or the morning of. It really helps me keep on track, and there is no questioning what I should eat.0
