So when is the best/worst times for someone to work out. My current schedule is crazy and I work out super late at night. It seemed to work out fine for me and now I feel like I am just stuck. I have been doing Turbo fire and burning a ton of cals so I started eating more b/c I wasn't eating enough. I am now wondering if it's because I am working out late?

Any time you can get yourself to do it is the best time!

There really isn't a best time from what I can tell. Some people argue that working out in the morning on an empty stomach burns more fat, but the science is a little iffy and the marginal improvement really isn't that much anyways.

I used to work out before bed back in college and it seemed to work well for me. Recently I switched from morning to lunch. I find my workouts are more intense at lunch and it's a nice distraction from the work day.

The best time to work out is when you have the time and the energy to do so. The best time is in the morning, but not everyone has the time. I personally work out in the middle of the day while my kids are naping.
  • Any time you can fit it in is the best time....there is no significant difference :)

I don't know if there is a 'best time' to work out.. I think it varies with everyone. I was working out in the evenings after work, but I got tired of eating dinner after 8PM every night and it was hard to go every day after working all day. So now I get to the gym around 5AM and I love it! It gives me the energy I need to ge through the day and I love that I can go straight home after work.

Maybe you should try doing it in the morning and see which you like better... good luck

The best time is when you are motivated enough to do it. Though it makes sense to want to eat more when you're burning more calories. Were you not eating your exercise calories before?

I exercise while baby napping after his lunch (I wait to eat my lunch till after my workout). Plus, my daughter and I during holidays are going to do our normal workout in the afternoon and do Zumba with the whole family in the evening :)

Whenever it works for you. I prefer exercising in the morning because it gives me energy for the day. Exercising at night makes it hard for me to get to sleep.

Dr.'s say that morning is the best time to workout...I forget all the reasons why? But it was on the Dr. Oz show a couple of months ago.

I think that whenever you can fit a workout in is great, because it's better than no exercise at all! I try to workout when the kids are down for a nap, but sometimes it doesn't work out for both to be asleep (at the same time), so I have to fit in shorter workouts.

I work out in the mornings.. but I've also did it in the evenings too..whenever you feel like it I guess. As long as your getting some exercise. And sometimes I eat my exercise pts. if I'm feeling that I need a extra snack. But normally I do not eat what I've burned off. Seems to be working so far . Good Luck! :)

I agree that you should work out when your schedule permits. For me, I like making the effort of waking up extra early some days to work out and get it done with, that way I have the whole day to myself to do what needs to get done, I feel good, and I'll make healthier choices since I don't want to sabotage the work I put in the morning
