Hi,
Wanted to share some interesting info I've just read about how helpful pomegranates, green tea and grapefruit are for weight loss. Hope you find it useful.
Pomegranate
New research suggests pomegranate juice may help re-distribute fat so it's less likely to settle around the tummy area. Good news as fat stored here is linked with diabetes and heart disease. Worth trying swapping orange juice for pomegranate juice or fresh pomegranates. Pomegranate is also thought to have a beneficial effect on cholesterol levels.
Green Tea
Green tea appears to boost our metablolic rate and the rate we burn fat, according to a Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Researchers believe the antioxidant substance called catechin in green tea may be what causes the good effect. Suggestion: Swap 5 cups of your normal tea for 5 cups of green tea. If you're managing a steady weight loss of about 1lb a week, this swap could boost it by about 15%.
Grapefruit
The old wives' tale about grapefruit being a fat burner may be true. In a study by scientists at the Nutrition & Medical Research Centre at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, USA, the simple act of adding a grapefruit three times a day to the diets of obese people caused them to lose on average around 3lb in 12 weeks without making any other diet or activity changes. It's thought that the fruit helps reduce insulin levels, wihch prevents fat storage and promotes weight loss. Suggestion: Eat half a grapefruit or drink a glass of grapefruit juice before each meal.
