so, I am looking for any tips in general to sticking to your food regimen. or eating tips on things that taste good but are low calorie. i just need round about help. i am doing pretty good so far, but then people in my house fix high calorie food and its so good and then it forces me to go work it off. (which i am not objecting to) however, i'd be happier if i was working off steam instead of food!!! so, anyone help! or you can post it on my blog entry. i am calling anyone!!! Thanks everyone!

Try asking them to substitute some "healthier options". Like cooking spray for the pan instead of butter. Red wine vinegar or cider vinegar instead of olive oil. Frozen or fresh veggies instead of canned. Frozen or fresh fruit instead of bottled/packaged. Eat a smaller portion and drink a lot more water while eating. Pile on the veggies instead of the 'proteins' and 'carbs'.0

Try entering food into your diary before you eat it, so you know how much you're eating.0

If there's a schedule to the "family" meals in your house (whoever that family may be -- roomates or the like), try to fix yourself a healthy dinner PRIOR to their eating time... if that doesn't work, trying cooking healthily for everyone. If you can't avoid these calorie-heavy dinners, exercise portion control and give yourself a healthy vegetable side to work with. If you explain to the folks you're living with that you're on this plan and trying to create a healthier lifestyle, they'll be very likely to support you. Good luck!!0

When they start to eat, go for a run.
Then make your own food when they're done.0 -
drink plenty of water, and its a case of mind over matter to keep on track, for me im doing 30d shred and walking for an hr a day and 10 mins on a gym ball, and to eat crappy and undo all the gd ive already done is a no no for me, keep a picture of urself in the kitchen of how u dont want to look and every time ur tempted too eat the high calorie stuff look at it, also the high cal stuff is normally loaded with the fat, ive almost rid my cellulite with cutting out fat from diet as much as possible and drinking lots of water and exercising. Things like pitta breads filled with salad and meat are filling and healthy, yoghurts fruit, poached eggs on toast, meat salads.0

These are a few things I have tried. Some have worked better than others.
1. enter the food in your MFP diary before you have prepared/eaten it. This has been enough to give my motivation a kick and not eat the 'bad' food.
2. eat a low cal soup before main meal. You should eat less of you main meal which really helps if you are struggling to stay away from certain foods/meals. I found this to be more effective than drinking water before a meal.
3. Stomach strength exercises. For some reason, I want to eat less if I do a few sets of these every other day. I have no idea why.0 -
I posted a bunch of soups at my blog http://kristen-foodismyfriend.blogspot.com I make a big pot of soup and then have it all week. Most are around 100 cal per serving (about a cup), and very healthy. They are listed under "skinny soups" . Good luck.0

I check everything out on the food database to get an idea of what to make that is better for me than what I thought it was. For instance, I love love love corn on the cob. (My daughter doesn't like it, she thinks they are beans and they will make you fart.) But, I know if I make canned corn or frozen corn, I'd eat way more than one serving, I'd add things like creamed corn to one can of regular corn, increasing my cals. I notice also if i tell myself BEFORE my dinner and actually sit down and plan out my meals, I do better. 100 cal snack pack things have all kinds of good sweet stuff low cal.0

Hi Dory Great post!
I often have to make food for my "boys" and it's not always healthy. I make really frakking delicious food like chicken Parmesan and pork chops and mac n cheese and zomg... I could go on. Instead of eating full portions, I make a healthy soup (great soup recipes by the way Knelson!) or a salad and eat that about 5-10 minutes before we sit down to eat. That way I'm already partially full and I serve myself a small portion of what they are eating (if there are carbs I try to take more protein) and LOTS OF WATER. I do a lot of talking at the table, that way I'm not completely focused on the food.
If there is any chance you can control what comes into the house, I would say make sure you are only getting good food. Junk food can be the downfall (especially after supper and before bed, I'm like a vampire looking for blood... except I want chocolate, which we don't keep in the house!) to a really good day.
Best of luck, adding you as a friend!0
