Hi all, just found this site due to new I phone app!! Been exercising all my life and needed a change so I have had some 1-1 sessions over a 10 week period and wow, what a difference....eat more, exercise less and my official weigh in is on Thursday but at half way point I was at 11lbs and 2% body fat loss and it is dead easy.
The bit I don't and I guess lots of others don't undertsnad is the science of what our bodies do for us and therefore all these fad diest can see short term results but you alweays put the pounds back on. I like this site because it does the calories for you but you still need to know what types of food to eat and when.
To be honest I yearn for my usual cereals in the morning instead I have bacon sandwiches, which sounds great but are a bit messy and it takes too long in the morning...but it works. Need to sort out the exercise bit on here because it does not appear to calculate calories burnt during resistance training only cardio stuff.
To give you an idea of the difference I was doing 7 spin classes in 4 days last year averaging around 700 calories a session plus other stuff so in all around 3 hours, 3/4 evenings every week and my HRM recorded well over 100,000 cals burnt in about 9 months including mountain bike riding and skiing but clearly I was eating the wrong stuff at the wrong time!!
Since the beginning of Feb I have only exercsied mainly resistance but some cardio and about 6 or 7 spin classes in total since then! and been on a low carb diet; frst time ever; and lost I reckon 14 lbs plus toned up and much slimmer, smaller waist etc with so much less effort and have more time in the evenings after work. I still like a good sweat though as it feels like I have really worked hard. Interested in trying to keep this up but I can't say I've been 100% religious on this either, I have had the odd!! bit of chocolate and some biscuits and food types not on my list but still achieved pretty good results. ONe thing though I have not had any alchhol at all so my treat myself this weekend but it will go straight to my head I am sure.
All the best on whatever you need to do Kim (male)
