I need a Salad...

Bowl...I like eating Big Salads with a lot of fresh veggies. What size bowl should I order, 1 qt or 2 qt? Something big enough that things aren't overflowing.

Personally I'd order the bigger one. You can always choose not to fill it, and that way you'll know it's big enough

When I'm having a big salad for dinner I eat it out of my serving bowl. :embarassed: :blushing: I want lots of lettuce and veggies and I don't want to have to worry about losing bits and pieces over the side of the bowl. I only get so many calories -- I want to enjoy each and every one of them, not throw them on the floor!

I was making my salads in my set of mixing bowls, but they were opaque and had tallish sides. I've been looking for weeks for a wide-mouth, low mid-sized bowl. Nothing is quite perfect. My salad serving bowls are a little too big, unfortunately. Pasta bowls are too small. Mixing bowls are too tall. I'm like the Goldilocks of Salad Bowls.

I agree. Currently, I';m using these hand me down stainless steel mixing bowls. They aren't really ideal to eat out of, although they do the job. Then I have these other odd shaped bowl that really don't work b/c they are way to small and I can't mix everything around. I'll have to go to Crate and Barrel this weekend to do some shopping.

If you end up finding something at Crate, let me know! I have this vision in the back of my mind of this low wide 11" bamboo bowl. I have yet to find a manufacturer who has realized my vision.

I've heard pampered chef has all the bamboo stuff ... my friend is supposed to be having a party I am DYING to go!!

Well, I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one eating salads from a mixing bowl. I hadn't even thought about looking for my own special salad bowl, but now that you mention it ...

I just bought the 8" Bistro Bowls from Crate and Barrel...They are perfect! They are big but not too big. If anyone needs a good bowl, these are recommended!
