What to eat first thing before cycling to work?

Hi all,
I have started cycling the 7 mile journey to work a couple of times a week (when my schedule allows). I tend to get up and set off first thing - as then I get into the office and get showered and ready in the shower rooms there before having breakfast from the canteen.
The first time I did this I only had a couple of sips of water before leaving but found my legs had no power in them. Logical I guess as I'd not given them any fuel since the night before. So the second time I tried it I had a banana and branflakes - but I think that might have been too much to have as well as toast from the canteen.
So what's the best to get energy into you quickly (about 15 mins before leaving) - a banana or some cereal?

Thanks Adam - I think that's what I'll do.
I just read a similar thread that someone posted after mine about what to eat before a morning workout. A colleague of mine suggested a cup of coffee to get the heart pumping, but as I don't really like coffee, I think I may have a cup of tea and a banana.
Oh the dilemmas of weight loss!!!0 -

As long as it is caffeine free tea. Caffeine will only serve to dehydrate you...not all that good before a workout. Stick to the banana and water. I'm not a fan of coffee either, and definitely would not like it before a workout for the reason I mentioned before.0
