I would imagine it depends on the soap. Besides drying it out if overused, I'm pretty sure most soap is fine if used regularly. I guess some of the fragrances they use in soap could possibly be slighly carcinogenic if you use it enough times, but I imagine we would have heard something about it.

I'm by no means a speacialist in this, but from personal experience I've found that regular (body) soap tends to dry out my face and make it look rough, however, face wash such as clearasil which are medicated ( i think) and can be bought to suit your skin type ( dry, greasy etc) works really well and gives my face a nice shine free wash and makes it feel fresh. i usually use the gentle exfoliating facial cleanser, it makes my skin OHHH so smooth!!!
    Hope this helps:smile:

i also have eczema, and when i visited the doctor last he told me that just plain water is best for your skin - unless you wear makeup.. and then it's best to use a non-drying face wash - no soap. soap dries your skin so much that it causes your skin to *over* produce oil and then that leads to all sorts of other fun things like zits, etc.. i've been using aveeno face wash and moisturizer for a while, and it hasn't made it worse.
