I'm starting the C25k program tomorrow on the treadmill and I was wondering what speed should I start out with? If it helps I currently work out 3-4 days out of the week. http://www.c25k.com/c25k_treadmill.html Thanks in advance!

It depends on you comfort level of jogging. I would recommended a power walking speed of 3mph, and a jogging speed of 5mph. With C25K it's about being able to keep running for that set amount of time, so what ever speed works for you. Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint!

I started walking at 3.5 and jogging at 5.0 mph. After I was able to do a full 5k, I started working on going a little faster. But it just depends on what pace you're comfortable at. If something seems too fast, go slower. If it seems to slow, go faster.

You should do what is comfortable for you. I read that you should be able to carry on a conversation during the run, so if you can't slow down. I started Monday. For me I do 4mph for the walk and then 6-7 run. I also try to do some on an incline. GOOD LUCLk:-)

do what is comfortable for you. I walk at 3.0 and run at 3.7-3.8 (and I'm on week 5! ). Start slow. If you can't run the full time, slow it down to a pace where you can and aren't out of breath. If that means you're running slower than you could walk it, so be it! One day I was actually next to an old lady (in her 70's!) that was walking faster than I was running. Don't worry about speed now, just get through it.

i think i started with walks at 2.5 and runs at 4. now i'm up to walks at 3 and runs at 4 to 4.5. i also have my treadmill set to give me random incline intervals, which is cool. there's actually a thread here of a bunch of us supporting each other through it, and giving status reports. you might wanna check it out.
