Hey there- does anyone else have trouble doing push-ups? I'm doing the 30 day Shred and OMG, the push-ups are killing my elbows and shoulders because I have work related aggravation in those joints. Any ideas or alternatives? or just live through it?

Try doing push ups off the wall instead of on the floor. See if that helps

I just have issues with them on a normal day. now if I use my stability ball for some reason it is a lil easier...maybe cuz my mind is on keeping me balanced rather than the up and down motion and the pain in my arms.

Or you could try doing them on your knees ! It makes it a LOT easier.

I use the bathroom counter, just make sure you are still lined up proper.

I'm a cashier so my wrists are petty messed up in general, I cannot do pushups without pain or aggravation, even when I bench press I have to keep my wrists locked tight. Anyway - what I have is those $12CND push up bars you can get anywhere - they're some Bally Fitness brand but I see Nike ones and other brands kickin' around. They are good because I can go off the ground at angles and manoeuvr so my wrists aren't kinked, and it's like a grasping motion.

However,.. it puts you off the ground and may make it tougher as you're getting more of a stretch.

Make sure you are doing it with the correct form. Here is a very good video on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwRLWMcOdwI

It is probably one of the best videos I have seen on push-up form. I saw it and immediately bookmarked it. I do push-ups as a regular part of my workout, and I still refer back to that video on occasion.
