If you workout in the morning your suppose to do it before you eat anything and this will burn belly fat faster!! So i would say after.0

either time is fine...just look for the ones with less sugar0

you hit your target heart rate faster and keep fuel in your system for your workout if you eat something small.... so I'd have a bite or two of the protein bar but that's it.
Then I'd eat the rest of it afterwards....0 -

I disagree. You are going to be able to exercise longer if you have fuel "food" in your system, therefore burning more calories.
It is also important after a long workout to restore your body with both protein and carbs.0 -
If your strength training definitely after but you should always eat something light at least an hour to half hour before.0

After. Protein is key for muscle repair and recovery. Your metabolic rate is increased after a workout as well.0

I recommend having a balanced breakfast like half a cup of oatmeal with half a cup of blueberries and a tablespoon of sliced almonds with a three whites and one yolk omelet a couple hours before you head out for your workout. I have mine right when I get up so its a little digested by the time I make it to my dance classes.
Then, on your way out the door have a small carb like a piece of fruit. This gives you energy during your workout and will keep you from being distracted from hunger. Also have a little water so you can make sure you are hydrated for your workout.
During your workout hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
After your workout you need to refuel your muscles with protein so they don't go bye bye. Have your protein bar then. Even better, have a protein shake. They tend to be less calories, carbs, and fat for the amount of protein they contain. That means your can enjoy some more yummy things later on in the day If you go with a protein shake, choose the faster-digesting whey powder over slow-digesting casein powder. This ensures the protein gets to your muscles in time. Its best to have your post-workout meal before half an hour has passed.
Before you go to bed its ideal to have a casein protein shake. Since casein protein is slow-digesting your body will be using it as fuel during your sleep instead of turning to breaking down those precious muscles you've worked hard to build up.
Hope this helps!0 -
