I just made this for breakfast. It was pretty much amazing.

Here is what I used to make it, along with the calorie content of each item that way you can see what calories came from what. This recipe can be altered for what you like to use, for example, I used soy milk, but you may like to use almond milk, or regular milk, or camel milk lol. I also used quick oats, mainly because that is all i had lol. You of course can (and i would have preferred myself) to use regular oats. Just adjust cooking time! :)

CHOCO-COFFEE OATMEAL
Serves One

Ingredients:
1/2 cup, dry, oatmeal (Natures Promise Organic Quick Oats, 150)
Diet Hot Cocoa Mix (Swiss-Miss Sensible Sweets Diet Hot Cocoa Mix, 25)
1 cup Light Vanilla Soy Milk (8th Continent Light Vanilla Soy Milk, 60)
1/2 cup coffee (Dunkin' Donuts Vanilla Nut, 1)

Procedure:
1. Combine all the ingredients into a pot and bring to boil.
2. Once it has been brought to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes (until it's thickened).
3. Let cool (it will continue to thicken) and enjoy!!

  • OOoo... this sounds good! I'm kinda particular about my sweetners though... do you think I could swap cocoa powder and stevia for the hot cocoa mix?

    Here's another I recently tried:

Cook 1/4 c oats in 1/4 skim milk
Mix oatmeal with 1/2 mashed banana, 2 tsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp brown sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon; top with 1/4 c skim milk, 1 1/2 Tbsp ground flax seeds.

The magazine (SELF) said 150 happy calories, but they didn't include the step by step breakdown.

I gotta say I'm kinda diggin it!
