My mom told me about something my Church back in AZ started at the first of April. They are doing a 21 day fast. My mom is doing the "Daniel Fas" where she eats only fruits, veggies, grains, and nuts. She does not eat anyting that came from an animal. I jokingly told her that she is a 21 day Vegan. The more I thought about it the more I wanted to try it. I am very religious, and yesterday a friend from the church called and told me about all the doors that God has been opening for her since she started her fast. So I started my 21 day Vegan inspired fast! I cannot wait to see what happens in th next three weeks!!

I've donethe Daniel Fast, a few times. People use this for all kinds of reasons, like to jump start a diet or spiritual enlightment but it requires dedication it isn't easy. Hope you enjoy it...good luck!

The 7th day Adventists are vegetarian- I believe some are vegan actually and live long healthy lives into their 80's-90's without medications. So there MUST be something to eating that way, religious or not. Cruelty to living creatures is cruelty no matter how you look at it. (not looking for a future argument here, just a belief of mine)

I respect your beliefs. I have issues when it comes to eggs and cheese, i love them lol. It is going to be hard for me, but I am ready to do it! My mom, every time I talk to her, keeps telling me how hungry she is lol

I love eggs and cheese too. Well, egg whites. But yes, I love cheese. I haven't eaten any fish, bird or land animals since 2004 and feel GREAT doing so. I'd LOVE to try the vegan diet but I couldn't do it every day or all the time. My mother-in-law makes home made mac & cheese every single wednesday night and I can't get away from that, LOL- She's 90 yrs old and wouldn't understand a new diet plan. I bet I could do the vegan thing about 75%-80% of the time though.......theres a thought!

Tell her to eat more fiber rich fruits and veggies. That should help =)

Thank you and God Bless you as well. I am very interested to see what will come of my fast, spiritually and in my "kicking fats *kitten*" journey!

After talking to my mom and the simple fact that I have 4 1/2 months to bust my *kitten* to get ready for warrior dash I am adding cheese and eggs back into my diet, but ONLY cheese and eggs. No milk and No meat!
