I am a complete Ranch addict-i've tried cutting it out and i can limit it but i can't seem to bring myself to totally quit it. I don't particularly like the diet ranch (light/nonfat) but i eat it anyway because it has a way lower calorie content. has anyone found any good ranch subs or diet ranch that doesn't taste like crap?

Thanks!!

Hidden Valley Ranch pkg mix with Fage Total 0 greek yogurt-honestly it tastes good. The sodium is high but I don't use ranch often, it's great especially for the dips with veggies

If you do try-just make sure to let it sit in fridge a few hours before eating

I get the low cal one but sprinkle in a bit of dill to it . . . really good and fresh tasting this way!
  • If you are dipping it then you can use this recipe:
    1 can white kidney beans
    1/4 LF ranch dressing
    1/2 LF cottage cheese
    Parsley for color
Place everything in a blender and use as a dip, you get the ranch flavor and it is healthy
I am a bleu cheese addict so I totally know where you are coming from!

Agree completely. I buy the Ranch dressing mix in the big shaker at Sam's Club and make it with Greek Yogurt (any fat free, plain variety) and then thin it with fat free milk till it's the dressing consistency I like. Makes it so much more nutritious!

A nutritionist once told me to order your ranch (or put it in a small bowl) on the side. Then dip your fork in it before picking up the salad. It cuts your ranch consumption way down and gives that ranch taste to all of your salad. It works wonderfully for me...and I'm a fellow ranch addict!

I love the ranch too and found that the ranch vinagerette spritzer is a pretty good substitute especially on salads.

I make my own. Here is my recipe:

    Ranch Dressing

3 tbl plain greek yogurt (full fat is best)*
    1 tsp lemon juice
    1/4 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dijon or spicy mustard
    salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp chopped parsley (optional but makes it look like bottled ranch)

*if you are not afraid of fat, substitute this with equal parts buttermilk, mayonnaise, and/or sour cream
