Are you kidding me???? Yoga vs. Standing

Options
Okay, I walk/run about 45-55 minutes three times a week (usually intervals), I do yoga 60-75 minutes three times a week (after my walk/run), and a Zumba class once a week. Here on MFP, it charts my walk/runs at about 312 calories, and my yoga at about 234 calories. No biggie, I thought.

Until I did a little investigating.

MFP calculates standing on a river bank, fishing, at 262 calories an hour!!!!

MFP calculates walking at 2.0 mph at 187 calories an hour!

Are they kidding? Walking burns less calories than standing???

I've stood around for an hour, and I've done yoga for an hour, and believe me, yoga was a LOT more difficult!

Okay, this became a bit more ranty than I intended, but this does seem rather skewed to me!

Fishing is more then standing by a river bank. Some fish put up a hell of a fight. Plus I believe fly fishing would have a lot of casting done working the arms. I never did that though. I did some deep sea fishing before. Can take a whole lot out of you trying to reel in a little shark.

Still I go by my HRM for calories burned. Going to be a lot closer to accurate then MFP guess work at calories burned.
