Knee Strain

So I have a bad knee from a trampoline incident when I was a teenager. Any suggestions on how keep it from popping all over the place during exercise. All the bouncy from cardio is really putting a strain on it. I try to stretch it out good before hand, but this week with all this new exercise I'm doing, my knee is not so happy with me.

It might help in the long run to carefully strengthen your knees with squats and lunges. I had some weakness and pain in my left knee that bothered me when running and those exercises really helped. But it took a couple months and I had to take it really slow. I wore a knee brace, too, for a bit that seemed to help! I bought it at the drug store.0

I have bad knees too, so I have to stay away from high impact exercises such as running and jumping. I also limit a lot all squats and lounges and I only use a modified version of both of them.
I use a knee brace in my worse knee while exercising, because it helps to keep the knee warm, in place, and limits lateral movement. I also ice the knee at night for 15 or 20 minutes to avoid or reduce inflammation and sometimes after exercise if I feel that is acting up.
Some people prefer to use the elliptical machine as an aerobic exercise but I don't find that equipment too forgiving, I prefer the treadmill and a stationary bike cycle.
Maybe you can ask the doctor for some PT treatment where the teach you how to reinforce the knee joint and develop strong quads. I will have surgery in one knee in the summer. so my PT will be done after that.
Good luck, I know how difficult it is not to be able to exercise due to physical limitations or pain.0 -

Thanks! I am going to keep the exercise up, but I just don't want to do anything stupid and have lasting damage. It hasn't bothered me in a long time, so I really think it's just gotten pretty weak with my lack of exercise over the past year. I want to restrengthen it. Guess it's time to go dig out that knee brace.
Thanks guys!0
