So I have spent this whole summer busting butt. I run almost everyday, I eat what I am supposed to, and drink a lot of water. I have seen good results and I was so proud of myself.
Last night it was a party for a friend of mine from nursing school and there were lots of the girls there I haven't seen since may. I am lighter and more toned and I thought I looked great! Well needless to say I felt pretty good about going to this party when I got there they all spent ten minutes telling each other how great they all looked and how they dropped 2lbs, 5lbs, 60z (they are all super thin). No one noticed that I had lost anything. :grumble:
Now don't get me wrong, I do this for me but I wanted someone to notice. So I was so upset today I binged. I am so embarrassed that I retreated back to my old ways of eating my emotions but I was so upset. I will go running again tomorrow and climb right back in the saddle but i guess i just needed to vent.

oh girl, i was feeling this lately!!
ive been workin my butt off too, and it literally took months for people at work to notice. it drove me crazy, but its not like you can say "hey everyone look at me im getting skinnier!" when all of your friends are toothpicks.
Believe me, you are not alone!0 -
Thank you, its nice to know someone else has felt this way!0

LOL-- you poor thing. That is so frustrating. My in-laws visited yesterday and I was waiting for one of them to mention I'd lost weight-- nuttin'. LOL.
Well, get back on it tomorrow, dear. It doesn't matter whether they notice it. You know you're going in the right direction. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
i so feel you on this one!! my friends are all thin, :explode: some downright twigs. it sucks! they don't notice i've lost a thing! (though neither do i sadly)0

DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP!
If they're so tiny that they're squabbling over 60 oz., I think that they're probably more thinking "It's about time" if you losing weight rather than "Oh, how skinny!" I wish that everyone could be considerate and see to the heart of a matter and what needs to be said/done, but that's very seldom the case.
As for the binge, tomorrow is another day and a fresh start. You've worked hard and you've stuck to it, which proves that you have what it takes to get back on the bandwagon and keep going! Nothin' to it but to do it!0 -
I kinda did the same thing today. I went back to work after being off for the summer (teacher) and 1 person noticed who is also dieting using ww and she had seen this site too. She knew I was working on it and probably felt compelled to say something. I went over my cals today for the first time in a very long time by 651...granted it was from sushi and not a cheeseburger. Your post made me realize why I did this, coincidence? Fat chance. I was subconsciously emotionally eating because I felt that no one noticed and still thought I was a chunker. Well, I am going to exercise an extra day to make up for it as just say ****it. Eventually I will be thinner and everyone WILL notice and they can all just be jealous of me because they are still fat. HA! Sorry, had to get rid of some anger there  :devil:0

Who cares what other people say or dont say for that matter!!! You know you lost the weight and you feel great so dont bother to worry :-)0

If they were bragging over 2lbs and 5lbs since May, they obviously have no lives or common sense.
I think the word I'd like to call them would get filtered out on here but I'm sure you can guess what it is!
Congratulations on your weight loss, even if all those skinny bishes were too intimidated to tell you how great you look!0 -
I call these people "haters". A lot of people hate it when other people succeed at weight loss (or anything else for that matter) because they are jealous they can't do it or it somehow it makes them feel threatened.
Stay strong and keep going as you are doing a wonderful job!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
I've been going through this myself lately. The most important thing is you are getting back at it today and you recognized the emotional eating. This journey has really shed a huge light on what would trigger me to eat. And in the past one of those days would have derailed me and I wouldn't keep going. Here's to a new lifestyle :drinker: You are on your way to a new you!!0

That is really hard to go thru!!! But let me tell you something maybe a bit HARDER?? I lost just over 45 pounds before ANYONE noticed!!! I guess it all depends on how you carry it.....I started out larger so 45 pounds on me came off in places where maybe only would be noticable without clothes  But it was really discouraging.....so hang in there!!! You are doing great!!!! When I hit the 50 pound mark, EVERYONE seemed to notice....then I gained a bit back and am now back on the losing streak...(hopefully!!)!
Keep on doing what you are doing...
Blessings!

Sounds like those girls were in a clique, and stayed in that mode for how many years now? It shows abso no social growth on their part, and you are probably better off without them to frustrate yourself. :flowerforyou:0

Darlin they don't sound like friends and they seem to into theirselves to lift others. We love you and your doing an amazing job keep it up!!!0

Well I get to live with a family of skinny people. I am the youngest of 5 girls, and they are all thin. So even if I lose or gain, all they ever say is why don't you try to lose weight? Why can't you lose weight? Just stop eating so much. I would much rather be ignored then told that every time I see them.
But hang in there and don't let them get to you. They don't pay your bills, or live your life or walk in your shoes. The only person it should matter too when you lose weight is you. Don't go looking for validation, you will always be dissapointed.0 -
Thanks everyone. You all made me feel better and even realize a few things. I jumped right back on the path today and I feel great. I will make it, we all will!0
