Vacation for a week..staying with MOM!

We are going to go visit my mother for about a week in June out of state and stay at her house. Healthy eating is unheard of there and I'm sure we might eat out sometimes. Is it rude to bring a few things of my own so I can actually eat there without having to give up my eating habits??
The last time we went (2 years ago) I basically gave up because I either ate really unhealthy or didn't eat at all. After we got back I started to gain back all the weight I had lost because I never got back on track. Kinda makes me not want to go, but that's not a good enough reason to not see my mom.
Does anybody have any ideas/tips??
HELP!

I don't think it's rude at all - we've done the same thing this weekend when visiting my parents.0

I went through that with my parents actually when I visited. I was just upfront and bought some items I was comfortable with, and had smaller portions of some comfort food I was comfortable eating. I heard some comments, but hey, it's my life. And it's yours - so I would say do what you need to do for you! What also helped me was making her feel special and requesting a few of my favorites from my past...that I knew I could eat and be okay with. So I wasn't totally dissing my entire childhood food. ;-)0
