Hey everyone!
I've actually been on MyFitnessPal for a while but I didn't have a public profile set up because I was worried that people would be like "Oh, what are you doing here? You're like... tiny." BUT, my friend on here told me that it wasn't just for weight loss and that there were people here trying to gain weight or just get into a healthy lifestyle. So, here I am.
Ever since middle school (shudders) I've had self-esteem issues. I always wanted to be taller because that would make my legs longer and thinner and then I could be a model and live happily ever after. But, here I am, a sophomore in college, and I've been stuck at 5' 1" for years. I'm okay with my height now (most days) but I'm still very critical of my appearance. This had driven me to become a regular at the rec center here on campus. I love to run, and one of my goals is to build up my endurance to the point where I can run a marathon.
A little about my background: I grew up on a ranch in Texas, so physical labor isn't anything new to me. I like being outside and being active, but there are days when reading a book curled in a blanket listening to Enya is just heavenly. I love to eat all the wrong things. I was never a big candy or sweets person, but I make up for it in fried foods. Holy cheese on rye, I love fried foods.
Also, I don't like veggies except for steamed broccoli and carrots, pretty much. So, if anyone on here knows any fantastic veggie combos/recipes that would make a non-veggie eater a little healthier than I would really appreciate it.
Look forward to hearing from all of you! I'm gonna go NOT eat a plateful of french fries.

Hi Rae. I'm glad you joined. You're going to love it here! And I won't let you eat any fries. At least not a whole plateful. I'll split them with you.0

hey this site is definitely for everyone- wether you need to loose 100 lbs or gain 10 lbs or just maintain the weight you are
it has a lot of good information and a good support group - we all have our issues and they are not judged by others
welcome and hope you feel as tall as you want to be because you are great and deserve it- I bet most very tall people want to be short - we all don't like something about our bodies or at least most of us I would say
add me as a friend if you want0
