Just spreading the word! I adore this stuff! It's inexpensive, nutritious and delicious! Toss it in salads for added bulk, put some on your sandwich for crunch, the possibilities are endless. I got a tip from Hungry Girl that said to substitute broccoli slaw for pasta! Steam some in the microwave for 4 or 5 minutes with a little water and you have got a great swap for pasta. We had spaghetti for dinner (with my homemade sauce made with ground turkey) and my big plate of "pasta" and sauce was less than 300 calories! Most of my calories came from the sauce. Try that with spaghetti noodles!

Thank you Hungry Girl! :drinker:

Btw, shop around for this stuff if it is too much. I don't pay more than $1.50 a bag. Some stores charge $3 a bag, that is just too high. It's just shredded broccoli, cabbage, and carrots for crying out loud. Oh yeah, it has 25 calories per cup.

Thanks for the tip. It would be healthier than pasta as well as lower calories......that makes it a win/win :-)

Kappy, Have you tried spaghetti squash? I think it's just to die for. Slice in half the long way. You can bake it or steam it till done. Use a fork to pull /shred the squash away from the skin. As it pulls apart, it looks like spaghetti. You can put spaghetti sauce on it, or any kind of pasta sauce. I like it with lot fat Parmesan cheese....the kind you put on spaghetti. The calories on the cheese is like 20 per teaspoon....not sure of the brand. Read labels on the cheese. And the squash is sooo low, you can eat a gob of it. Check it out. I must try your broccoli slaw soon.
    Take care

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try it. I just tried ground turkey in italian sausage flavor for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I bet it would be yummy with the broccoli slaw. I like spaghetti squash too!! I see some spaghetti alternatives in my near future!!
