I've started doing the awesome-yet-awful INSANITY workout dvds, but I'm wondering how many calories are burned during an average 40 minute workout? I've logged it under "circuit training" before but it seems like I burn more than 350 calories during one of those workouts?! any ideas?

You need a Heart Rate Monitor with calorie burn to be sure as each person will be different depending on weight, height etc.0

ohhhh yeah, i've heard of those...but i'm not wearing one of those crazy things around my chest like that guy does in the Insanity video! do they make them for your wrist or something?0

they do but you have to constantly keep putting your fingers on it to re-register your heartrate. But honestly, you stop noticing the chest strap after you get used to it. I wear mine for my Polar F4 almost all the time and it doesnt bother me at all.0

I know you cn burn up to 1000 depends on how hard you work out out and what video I did Insanity in Aug now doing Turbo Fire I burned 800 I have the body bugg0

I'm typing this as I'm getting ready to do my Insanity workout for the night. The best way to accurately estimate how many calories you're burning throughout the workout is to literally use a HRM with a chest strap [or something similar like BodyBugg which you can wear on your arm, I believe], as they will constantly monitor your HR between rest periods and sudden interval bursts. There's nothing wrong with wearing one, unless you're embarrassed by it for some odd reason.0
