Sorry I don't have any low cal advice on these, but I need help! I'm making ice cream cone cupcakes for my boyfriend's birthday in a few weeks. I read from a few comments on the recipie site that covering them can make the cone soggy and kinda gross, but I really need to make them the day before his birthday. Does anyone know how to store these overnight? I think I can buy a large box from the party supplies store, but I'm worried about covering them and the cones getting icky. But if I don't cover them won't the cake part get dry? I can frost them the day off, that's not a problem.....we're having his family over for the first time since we moved to this apartment (it's ONLY been 6 months, haha) so I'd like everything to go well and serve these awesome cupcakes! Any help?

I seen a cake pan I think it was at party warehouse or any party store i am sure and you jsut fill the cake pan with cake batter and the pan is shaped like Ice cream cones so you don't even have to use the real cones and you could use one of the low cal cake reciepes. The pan has 6 i think cups like a cupcake pan. Look at some of the party stores or places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby.

I made these last month and they did get soggy b/c I put them in a ziploc container.
I would love to know how to store them also. They were so cute! Would love to make these for my daughters 8th birthday party.

OK I don't know how this will work for the cones, but if you frost a regular cake with buttercream frosting--the kind used for decorating, you do not need to cover the cake then. The frosting keeps the cake moist. I guess if you don't hear from anyone else who knows for sure, I would make the ice cream cupcake cones the day before AND also frost them the day before with buttercream frosting and do the decorations and all with the frosting and then just leave them out in the open--uncovered. Whenever I decorate birthday cakes and etc., I never have to cover them after they are frosted.Good luck!!

Thanks, that's a good tip. I just found a site that said to store them in an airtight container unfrosted for up to two days.....but now I'm thinking I might just wait and make them the morning of depending on how late in the afternoon we have his family over. I know I am going to be nervous about having them over for the first time and making sure the house is spotless, so I don't want to take any chances with having them turn out bad if I make them the day before,
