I recently joined a local 24/7 fitness center, Endurance Fitness. I was offered one free PT consulation with my membership and this site was recommended. I'm over 50 years-old and I don't put much stock in chronological age. I have been a power walker for many years and began strength training a little over a year ago. My current program is "New Rules of Lifting for Women". I actually crave lifting weights so it must be similar to what they call a runner's high. I strength train 3 days a week with cardio interval training.
Power walking helped me to loose the first 37 lbs and now it is time to lose the rest of it while building up muscle in the process (or at least prevent losing more muscle mass).
Here's to feeling much better the second half of my life and appreciating my body for the wonderful machine it is.
