Well, I am new to MFP but so far . . so good. It's really easy to use and a close friend of mine recommended it . . I'm glad she did!
I am a single mom to two kids - one is technically a grown up (20 years old, will be 21 soon) and he has a baby who is not quite 1 year old. My other child is my daughter, 16 years old and still living with me . . will be 17 soon. I really want to be able to be more active in general . . my daughter and I like to do a lot of things together and we travel quite a bit. We were recently in NYC and my feet and ankles swelled SOOO bad . . I had to be put on anti-swelling meds when I got home. I'm convinced a lot of it has to do with my weight but we also did a ton of walking, as well as flying.
Anyways, I want to live a long and hopefully healthy life and this is the first step on my journey. I find this website so much easier than trying to jot everything down in a notebook or whatever. And it sort of "encourages" you along the way too - a piece of notebook paper can't do that . . LOL.
So . . I am on a mission or a journey per se of weight loss. I've tried numerous programs (Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, natural supplements, and just trying to cut back on my own) and I have successfully lost weight only to gain it all back and more. I have a relatively sedentary job doing hospital billing . . however we do have a lot of programs at my workplace centered around nutrition, exercise, and the like. I recently took a nutrition class and loved it, learned A LOT!!!
Well, so that is my "intro" for now. I am going to go outside now and walk a bit more. : )

Welcome!!! I agree this website is a lot easier than trying to track everything in a notebook, and the community is spectacular for encouragement and advice. I was on Weight Watchers twice and gained the weight back both times, but I feel confident that with this site, the results will be LONG-TERM! Good luck on your journey!0
