Can't be bothered

I really cant be bothered at the moment to try and push harder to reach my goals. Will carry on going to the gym and eating healthier, but I KNOW I could work out harder at the gym, and hit my 2.5lbs per week goal for the next 4 weeks. I seem to have accepted the fact that I just can't be bothered though, rather than pushing myself harder :grumble:

Well seeing that this is your first time on a weight loss program, it's probably best to not over do it and overwhelm yourself. That just sets you up for failure. You've lost 11 pounds already. That's awesome! Keep up the good work.0

im happy with 1lb - 1.lb a week, dont set the bar to high , set yourself that sort of goal, if you do better then you will feel awesome0

just keep trying, 11lb loss is nothing to be sneezed at, and remember that, you've worked hard to achieve that, do not give up keep going to the gym and eating healthier i'm sure when you continue to see the results working in your favour it will help you out of this funk and kick start the motivation, just remember that only you can set your goals, but his also gives you the power to change them at any time if you need to0

Studies show that we are more likely to keep the weight off if we go slow. Think of this as more of a marathon than a sprint. Pace yourself so you don't get burned out, frustrated, or go back to the old patterns. One of the advantages of taking your time to lose weight is that you have a longer time to get used to living a healthier lifestyle, so try not to be too hard on yourself right now. Be patient with yourself.:flowerforyou:0

sounds like an off-day, and it sounds like you're mentally tired...
here's how I prepare when I feel a little burnt out before a workout session...
eat some complex carbs 60-90mins before workout(wholemeal grains bread for me+honey), drink some water.
eat an orange 30mins before workout, drink more water
that should take care of me physically for the workout...
how to get "pumped up" for a workout... this works for me, I just try to distract myself... raise my mood.
So I just head over to the youtube, and watch some funny movies and laugh my *kitten* off...
when workout times comes, I am not so stressed about it, and I can push through it giving it my full effort.
Hope that helped. Stay motivated.0 -
Well, you've set yourself a pretty high goal - maybe you would be better to start with a smaller goal and see if you can exceed it rather than setting one that seems (in my opinion) to be unrealistically high - which seems like setting yourself up to fail.
Good luck with it!0 -
With all these weight loss shows like the biggest loser, we set our exceptions beyond what is a normal weight loss.
With these show they work out all day every day, and it is not something we can keep up at home.
You are doing so well with you weight loss already, keep up the good work and you know they say slow and steady wins the race , and try to keep in mind its the cant be bothered self alk that kept us all from living healthy lives................0 -
2.5 pounds a week is a lot. Take it easy on yourself for a while - then re-focus. You are doing so well!0
