Do you count yard work as exercise? if so what kind? and how do you count what was burned? I havent logged any because I dont know how or if its even necessary. Thanks

I do if it's significant yard work. For example, the other day we trimmed a tree and cleaned up all the brush- 3 hours of carrying and stacking logs is absolutely a workout in my book!
I just put it in as "gardening, general"- figured that was a good (under)estimation of calories since I wasn't wearing my HRM while I was doing the work. Hope that helps :flowerforyou:

I agree I would put it under gardening- general.0

yes i do. I cut the lawn by push cart and I have over an acre to cut. I use the gardening catalog under cardio on here. It matches pretty close with my HRM.0

I think it depends what activity level you have set on MFP. Mine is sedentary so I add anything like that, but if you already have it set at an active level it is already accounted for? EG if you have a very active job and you do yard work on a weekend its no different to what you would usually do and therefore I would not add it, but if you have a desk job & therefore set your activity level at sedentary its over and above what is already accounted for in MFP. Hope that makes sense!0

Thanks! I was weed eating, trimming trees and cutting grass. Didnt know there was a gardening general and will put it under that.0

I do for push mowing or pulling weeds (gardening)0

I did yesterday and I put it under cleaning moderate effort and logged the amount of time. But I did it for 3 hours and only logged 2 hours. I guess it is up to you.0

I did 3 hours of gardening yesterday, digging, weeding, pulling up brambles, turning the soil, cutting down hedge stems with a pull saw...I logged 1 hour as I know my calorie burn is extremely low compared to the average person.0

For me, this was like not using a scale. I was cheating myself with smaller portions trying to estimate. I wasnt adding yard work to the exercise. Again cheating myself!!! Well, LIVE AND LEARN as my mom would always say...lol:ohwell:0
