I have trapped a nerve in my spine which is very painful so exercise is limited. What could you suggest I could do to keep the exercise going but not too much strain on my back? x

Are you under the care of a physiotherapist? they should be able to advise you. Swimming is always good as you are effectively weightless in the water and that should help

Have you spoken to your doctor? S/he'd probably be able to advise you. However, I imagine that some gentle walking would be OK. I suspect you probably need to look at low-impact exercise until your back is better...but I am in no way an expert, so this is just what I would do in your situation - I'm not saying you should go out and do it, just suggesting possibilities!

I hope you manage to find something suitable, and wish you a speedy recovery.

ETA: When I hurt my shoulder, I found swimming to be ideal...so long as I took it slowly and didn't try to race anyone! Might be good for you too.
