Okay, this was weird.
I went to have my mid day snack of a delicious juicy navel orange. I started cutting the sweet smelling thing, smelled like an orange, and man did it smell good. Then as the knife went in something just didn't look right. Co worker walked by and said "having grapefruit?" The inside of my orange was as red as a grapefruit. So I smelled it, still smelled like an orange, so I tasted it....still tastes like an orange, even sweeter. Boy would I have been mad if it was a grapefruit because I DO NOT like grapefruit. Have any of you ever had an orange that is red as a grapefruit on the inside? Is it some inbred hybrid fruit or something from another planet???? What's going on with our fruits? Have I been away from the healthy eating that long that I don't even recognize the simplest of fruits????? Please help!!!!!!! I feel like I am in an episode of the TWILIGHT ZONE!!!!

Could it be a blood orange? That's the only thing I can think of. Maybe it was just a crazy red orange!!!

Could it be a "Blood Orange"? They are very tasty and very red inside.

Hmmm never heard of a blood orange so that is possible although it wasn't marked as such at the store when I bought them. But it was very tastey and just what I needed as a snack. Yummy!!!!

It is a blood orange and they are the best!!! Hard to find though..
