Just got back from a wonderful trip with family. Then a family member killed in accident. Having a hard time getting back into gym. I really want to lose weight. But having a hard time getting myself to the gym. Any ideas. Help.

You're going to feel a lot better if you do.
I don't know what to say as far as motivation goes. I always get angry at things and work out harder.

Exercise helps you deal with stress better. Losing a loved one is extremely stressful. if you do someithing for yourself, even a short walk, you will find that you deal with things better

As cliche as it'll sound, JUST DO IT! I suffer from depression and I totally get having a hard time moving yourself to do something like that. You know that exercise (any kind) raises your feel good hormones, plus you'll feel like you are doing something which will make you feel better, it'll eventually help you to cope and move on. Plus, if you're having trouble sleeping, exercise will help you sleep better as long as you don't do it in the evening.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss.

    Gym therapy is the best.

One step at a time. I remeber being told start with this, for every hour you sit, spend at least 5 minutes moving....march in place, walk around the house, just move. Like if you watching TV, during the comercials move.... Then get an exercise buddy. If you commit to someone else that you will go to the gym, your more likely to do it. Set small goals first...two days a week say. and build from there. It will help you to cope.
