Sorry for posting such a dumb question....but does anyone know how I can calculate my body fat??

  • They have online calculators but they aren't as accurate as if you went in to a gym or something like that and had them use calipers. But it is free and it can give you an estimate at least.

My favorite online calculator is: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html

That said... it's my favorite because it tends to match caliper measurement calculations for me. Every person may be a little different.
  • Some gyms and establishments have the scale that measures everything from body fat to muscle mass and water percentage.
If you don't belong to a gym, maybe take a free day at one and talk to their nutrionist and they will put you on the scale to get your reading.

I have gone to both of the others... THIS one is easier! Trust me. I just found it and did all three of them... this one is more accurate and easy!

It's not accurate for me... Every person is different. Any online calculator will give you a rough idea. But none of them are accurate for every person.

You can get scales that give you a pretty good estimate of your body fat too. I picked mine up on sale for about $25 from a department store here - not sure if they'd be easy or hard to find over the pond :)

I have a scale that gives me a pretty accurate read. Before I had the scale, I used this: www.livestrong.com/tools/body-fat-calculator/

The calculations can be a little off still though... I think it measured me at a higher body fat % compared to my scale, but it was good to at least have some sort of an idea of where I was at.

You can buy a tanita scale that calculates it. It's not AS accurate as you would get from a gym, but it's pretty accurate I've come to find. It's pretty spot on with what the gym gets also :)
