How come MFP doesn't recognize any calorie burn for strength

I think this is a huge oversight. IS there any way to calculate how much you've burned while strength training? I had an intense training session yesterday including burpees, lat pull downs and pulls, crunches, and biceps curls. I was breathing heavily and sweating. Yet MFP doesn't recognize any calorie burn...any suggestions?

It's because it's so variable from person to person. There's a cardio entry for "strength training" and it does give you a few cals. burnt.

Use "Weight lfiting" under the cardio

If you only put those numbers in the "strength" section, it won't count them (not sure why) but if you search "weight lifting" or "strength training" in the cardio section, you can add them and get the calories there. Just a heads up though, the standard they give is not very high. If you were doing burpees in between each weight move (congrats by the way, I hate burpees) or if you were doing other 'cardio' moves, you might want to log it as circuit training. Best way is always going to be a HRM, but otherwise find the closest match you can in the database.

You can add your own exercises. I use my heart rate monitor and just log in the calories under "strength training", or whatever i am doing that day.

I would mark it as "aerobics" under cardio.

I use my HRM and log the calories burnt that way. They do have calisthenics you can log it under.
