4 45 minute workouts a week is plenty already. Are you trying to reduce those down and workout more at home?

No, I'm trying to add more workouts. I'd like to be doing something every day of the week, whether it be a little walk or more. I'm tired of being fat, although I know my problem is food. I hate the "diet" part of "diet & exercise"!

I'm not trying to be mean just honest because I have learned this the hard way but you can't out exercise a bad diet!!! Weight loss is 80% DIET 20% exercise. Sad but true :)

Walking is something you can do for life and if it's burning calories-it's burning calories so please don't be weary of a walking exercise. You obviously are doing more than just that anyway so it will help and continue to help. No matter what, walking is an excellent way to keep your heart healthy and burn calories. Keep up the hard work!

Actually a lot of people lose weight while doing the walking DVD's because they are higher intensity walking (you are walking 4.5 - 5 mph) plus she boosts you at the end. You do more then just walk, it uses all types of muscles, plus it tones you up. I look 100% better after using Leslies dvds then I did when I was just lifting weights and trying different workouts on youtube. You burn around 600 cals with it and that (with a great diet) will help you loose weight. Plus it is something that a lot of people with children or who are not ready for really high intensity workouts with intervals that are longer can do without worrying about children trying to play with them in the process.

Of course you are going to loose lbs when you first start it bc it is something different but 4 weeks later its going to be "the scale stopped". Walking isnt going to get you the results you want in the long run.

This is dreadfully inaccurate. You can find some very basic information on walking for weight loss here: http://walking.about.com/od/weightloss/Walking_Off_Weight.htm Walking is inexpensive (well, apart from buying good shoes and possibly a pedometer), can be done in any weather, and is sustainable long term. Power and race walking provide phenomenal calorie burns and are less damage on your knees than running. Please don't slam walking just because it isn't your thing, because your misinformation can harm a lot of people. Anyone who wants more info on power walking and wants support in doing so, please feel free to friend me.

OP, if you have cable, check out the ONDemand feature, I have Comcast and there are a ton of free workouts. 30 Day Shread, Billy Blanks, etc., the days that I can't make it to the gym, I go through there and find something that fits the time I have.

Awesome idea that I hadn't even thought of!! Thanks so much!

I get home from work, make dinner, feed the family, give baths, and get everyone ready for bed.

What's your husband doing? Can he take charge of the kids a few nights a week so you can workout while he does the nighttime routine?

My husband is a stay at home dad, so he has them all day every day. I almost feel bad asking him to help even more, but I'm sure he'd be willing to.

My husband's a stay at home dad too... but he's also with me on the healthy & fit journey, so he totally gets that this is the only time I can get my exercise in. He does his either while munchkin's napping or he takes her in the bike trailer or both. I do most of the cooking, but that's just because I'm a better cook. It doesn't have to be every night though.

Alternatively, with multiple kids maybe you could both get 'em ready for bed to cut the time down.
