To answer your question this is what I did.... I started at 246.2. So my first goal was to get out of the 240's, then to get out of the 230's then out of the 220's and so on. My most recent mini goal was to lose all my "baby weight" I jjust did that as of last week. Of course this all depends on how much you are looking to lose. My final goal is 185.0 So a total of 61.2 pounds. Without the mini goals I prob woud have quit by now. I work out about an hour a day 6x a week on my ellpitcal and watch what I eat. So far so good!

is there a place in myfitnesspal to set minigoals is what i meant0
-
no,they leave that up to your own discretion.0

I dont think so. Most people just make some up and stick them in their forum signature.0

ok thanks0

How do you get them in your forum signature? Just type?0

yes just type them in. That is what I did too just set a small one for 10 pounds and left it out for 5 weeks. So that is not unrealistic and if I meet it before then YAY and if I meet it by then YAY0

Well, there are a few different ways. One way would be to take one week at a time and strive to lose SOMETHING. After that week is over start again and say you wil lose that week too. before long all the "one week losses" will add up. Another way you could achieve a mini goal is to make a chart and log your progress. I know for a fact that logging what you eat makes you responsible for what you put in your mouth and makes you aware of what you are eating. You could also try taking your a step back and looking at the total weight you need to lose and just break it down. As long as you lose each time you weigh in that will all add up. You could use a monthly mini goal start on May 1st and say that on May 31st you want to have a weight loss. You could use the holidays as focal points...example from now til Mothers Day then from Mother's Day til Memorial day then from Memorial day til Father's day then Father's Day til 4th of July etc I hope this helps. What I am trying to do with my mini goals is Figure out my ideal weight and then start with a goal of 5lbs.(a bag of sugar). then I am going to look at getting out of the 40's then out of the 30's then out of the 20's etc. Then out of the 200's. The secret is to be vigilant and LOG whatever you put in your mouth. As long as you burn off more calories than the amount that you eat you should lose. Your ideal weight mullitiplied by 15 is the daily amount of calories you should be consuming to achieve that weight. so If your ideal weight is 150 then you should be consuming 2250 cal/day to achieve that goal. Good luck I hope one of these ideas helps you out. Thats where I struggle too. I know WHAT i am supposed to do I just have a difficult time following thru.0
