Gaining Weight From Salad Topped With Ham

Water weight is still weight. X-D

To cut some calories out of meals and use them toward a few holiday indulgences I've been filling up on green salads topped with ham and light dressing. HOLY SODIUM! :-D My face is flushed this morning (and I have LOW BP most of the time) and I feel dragged out from the sugary bits of small indulgence.

I've gained a couple pounds even though I've been under calories.

So, if you're stressing a holiday stall or just feel dragged out like you're getting over the flu - relax. Check the sodium levels in your food diary. Realize that not all calories are the same and replacing yogurt and fresh fruit with cake and/or candy is going to take it's toll. It takes more of a toll as you get older. This too shall pass. Appreciate your apples, non-smoked meat and low fat dairy and try to remember this food hangover every time you see anything that you know will cause it. :-D

I'm going to go work out soon and try not to collapse. :-)

Yes flavored yogurts and oatmeal ussually for most have the same amount of HFCS as a can of soda. You didnt think them making some diet or light would actually make you lighter...They are ussually exchanging something in them to sabotage your workouts so you continue to buy their products. Try putting turkey on your salads instead of ham. Ham is cured in salt..not a good plan. One that most dont realize is the progresso GOOD FOR YOU soups...have almost 900 MG of sodium in a whole can which is what most people eat.

    CRAZY STUFF!!

    Keep rocking it girl!! =0)

Oh, the ham isn't an everyday thing. We had ham for Easter, so I'm just using the leftovers. :-D

I love ham and def won't give it up.

I usually don't have much trouble with water retention unless I'm eating papa johns or pizza hut. Then I get the food hangover, and feel bloated and soft for a day or so.
